Antropik completes 3 billion USD funding... company value expands to 380 billion USD

[USER PARABOLA=Kim Jong-hyun reporter] Artificial intelligence (AI) startup Anthropic has successfully closed a $3 billion funding round, according to CNBC on the 12th (local time).
This funding round was conducted based on a company valuation of 38 billion dollars, led by Singapore's sovereign wealth fund GIC and the tech investment hedge fund Coatue. Microsoft and NVIDIA also participated in the investment.
Antrophic has more than doubled its valuation compared to when it raised funds in September last year. The company, which developed the next-generation AI assistant Claude, is in a competitive relationship with OpenAI, which secured a 40 billion dollar funding round led by SoftBank.
Antrropic's Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Krishna Rao said, "The message sent by entrepreneurs, startups, and the world's largest companies is that Claude is becoming increasingly central to business operations."
He stated, "This funding round reflects the tremendous demand from our customers," and said that the new funds will be used for infrastructure expansion, research, and investment in enterprise-grade products.
Antropic earns about 80% of its revenue from enterprise customers, which is due to the popularity of 'Claude Code,' an AI coding tool that can automate the software development process.
Claude Code's revenue from the company's products increased to 2.5 billion dollars, and enterprise subscriptions have grown by five times since the beginning of this year.
Antropic announced its latest model, "Claude Opus 4.6," at the beginning of this month, explaining that it demonstrates improved performance in coding capabilities and the creation of high-quality professional work outputs.
Anthropic said, "The demand that companies and developers show to Claude reflects the trust in the most important tasks," and "As AI moves towards large-scale implementation phases, we will build models, products, and partnerships to lead this transition."
