Joining Seonjae Master! A joyful temple cuisine gala featuring six master chefs of the world's first temple cuisine, "Chefs of the Gongyanggan" on Wave
Throughout the past, when people mentioned "monastic food," they first thought of plain rice porridge or food only for monks. However, a pleasant reality show about monastic food that breaks this prejudice is coming up.
The world's first six master chefs of temple cuisine, who break stereotypes and showcase the true essence and trendy twists of temple food, present a cheerful temple cuisine gala show! Wavve's "Chefs of the Offering Hall" is exclusively released today at 11 a.m.
This four-part series will be released all at once. The program is expected to attract attention as a pleasant variety content that is suitable for families to watch together during the Lunar New Year holiday, or for individuals to enjoy comfortably.

The reason why "Cheonhyanggan's Chefs" is even more special is that six master chefs representing Korean temple food have gathered for the first time. It also holds great significance as the world's first food reality show about temple food.
The cast is also impressive. Including Seonjae, a monk from the "Bai-su-jo" class who gained attention for his deep culinary world and character in the recent "Black and White Chef: Culinary Class War 2," and Jeonggwang, a monk who introduced the value of K-sa-chal food to the world through "Chef's Table." They are joined by monks Geoho, Jeokmum, Daean, and Ugwan, who are considered leading masters of sa-chal food. This has made it possible to meet these master chefs, who are usually hard to encounter in one place.
Master chefs will convey their accumulated wisdom, insights, and attitudes toward life through the medium of "food," delivering a gentle yet warm resonance to viewers. In particular, "Chefs of the Alms Hall" shines a delicate light on various cooking methods infused with the time of practice, going beyond simply filling one's stomach with food.
Diverse recipes by master chefs who fully preserve the vitality of seasonal vegetables and the pure taste of nature are radiating new charm, coinciding with today's vegan and vegetarian trends. Temple cuisine, rooted in tradition, is now being reinterpreted as trendy vegetable dishes, and is expected to attract the attention of those interested in current food culture trends.
The attitude of master chefs towards ingredients is naturally conveyed in an atmosphere where laughter and empathy are exchanged, offering a healing time that can be enjoyed without burden for modern people who have become accustomed to stimulation.
The appearance of special guests also adds a three-dimensional layer of fun. Actors Ryu Soo-young, chef Yoon Nam-ro, Korean chef Jo Hee-suk, and Australian-born Korean fine dining chef Joseph Rizwood will taste the master chefs' dishes, exchange conversations, and share philosophies and lives beyond food.
The scene where master chefs carefully prepare offerings is expected to provide a genuine moment of rest, allowing people to slow down and enjoy small joys and pleasures during the Lunar New Year holiday, temporarily stepping away from their busy daily lives.

"The Chefs of the Temple Kitchen" is available only on Wave on February 13.
