[USER PARABOLA Kim Yanggeun reporter] The chairman of the Gyeongju City Council, Seo Baek-hyun, vice chairman Lee Jeongja, and member Lee Byung-chul received the '2025 Chairman's Award of the Democratic Peace and Unification Advisory Council' at the '2025 Democratic Peace and Unification Advisory Council Jeollabuk Regional Chairman's Award Ceremony' held on the 10th in the large conference hall of the Jeollabuk Special Self-Governing Province Office.
The Chairman's Award of the Democratic Peace and Unification Advisory Council (hereinafter referred to as "DPUAC") is an award presented by the President, who serves as the chairman of the DPUAC, a constitutional institution. This award is given to advisory council members who have contributed to national development through their commitment to the spirit of mutual benefit and harmony, and who have spread the will for peace and unification on the Korean Peninsula.
On this day, Chairman Seo Baek-hyun, Vice Chairman Lee Jung-ja, and Member Lee Byung-chul were honored with the award. Despite their busy legislative activities, they actively promoted the spread of public support for peace and unification as advisors of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Consultative Committee. They demonstrated leadership in uniting citizens' awareness of unification, and were recognized for their contributions to the development of the local community.
Chairman Seo Baek-hyun said, "This award is not just an individual honor, but also a result of the support from citizens who have joined hands for peace and unification," and added, "In the future, I will continue to listen to the voices of the people as a member of the National Unification Advisory Council, and carry out solid legislative activities so that a broad consensus on peace and unification can be widely spread in our region."
Deputy Chairman Lee Jeong-ja and Member Lee Byung-chul also said, "We will do our part to create a peaceful and prosperous Korean Peninsula through communication with citizens," and "We will actively cooperate and communicate to further expand the consensus for unification within the local community."
