Seoul City to Fully Promote Reconversion of Wiye-Sinsa Line Light Rail as a Public Investment Project
Seoul City providesThe 'Wiryeseonsa Line' light rail project has been decided to be converted from a private investment project to a public finance project, and Seoul City will begin active implementation.
Seoul City announced on the 13th that the amendment plan for the "Second Urban Railway Network Construction Plan," which has been finalized to change from a private investment project to a public financial project, has been passed and officially announced after receiving final approval from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government explained that, although it has experienced project delays due to external factors such as rising material costs and interest rate fluctuations, it now has a stable foundation for promotion, as it has established a legal basis for transferring the project from a private investment project to a public financial project.
Seoul City plans to continue administrative and institutional support to enable the Wiye-Sinsa Line, which has regained momentum after 18 years since its initial project in 2008, to swiftly move forward to the practical project implementation stage.
Accordingly, the Seoul Metropolitan Government has decided to quickly complete the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's expedited preliminary feasibility study process, and to swiftly prepare the pre-construction stages such as establishing the basic plan and design.
Seoul City stated, "Starting from this second revised Seoul Metropolitan Subway Network Construction Plan announcement, we will concentrate all administrative efforts to promote railway projects, and do our best to serve as a central role in the transportation network of southeastern Seoul."
