BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — A new initiative is taking shape in Alabama as Miles College collaborates with a local school to equip students with the skills needed for an economy increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence (AI). The partnership aims to ensure that young people, regardless of their educational path, are prepared for the evolving job market.

Miles College recently announced a program called "Access for All" on Monday. This workforce preparedness initiative is being developed in collaboration with Study Fetch, a company focused on educational innovation. As part of the launch, officials conducted a demonstration for students at Parker High School, showcasing how the program could benefit them.

President of Miles College, Bobbie Knight, emphasized the importance of the initiative. “We want to be able to have an impact on every student, even if they don’t go to a four-year institution, even if they don’t come to Miles College,” she said. “Of course, we want them at Miles, but the key is to get young people in our state, our city prepared for the future.”

The program is specifically designed for students in grades nine through 12. By targeting this age group, the initiative hopes to instill foundational knowledge and skills early on, making it easier for students to transition into higher education or the workforce.

Focus on Workforce Readiness
