Asus is set to unveil a new 18-inch gaming laptop in China, the Tianxuan 7 Pro Max. This device is scheduled to be available for purchase starting May 8th. Designed as a large desktop-replacement machine, it combines AMD’s latest high-end processors with Nvidia’s newest RTX 50-series graphics cards.

Asus Tianxuan 7 Pro Max Specifications

Inside the laptop, users will find the AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX processor, a powerful 16-core, 32-thread chip built for demanding tasks and gaming. For graphics, buyers can choose from several configurations: an RTX 5060, an RTX 5070, or the premium RTX 5070 Ti. To handle the heat generated by these components, Asus has implemented a dual-fan cooling system featuring 0.1mm fan blades. The laptop is rated to manage up to 205W of total system power under heavy load.

The display is an 18-inch screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1600. It offers a 300Hz refresh rate and a 3ms response time. The panel covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space, reaches 500 nits of brightness, and includes Nvidia G-Sync to prevent screen tearing. Additionally, an anti-glare coating has been applied to enhance visibility in bright environments.

For memory and storage, the base models come with 16GB of RAM, while higher configurations offer 32GB of dual-channel DDR5-5600 memory. All models include a 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. The motherboard features dual memory slots and dual M.2 slots, allowing users to upgrade both the RAM and storage themselves at a later date.

Design and Portability

Given its 18-inch screen, the Tianxuan 7 Pro Max is a substantial device. It weighs approximately 2.8kg and measures 1.89cm in thickness. The laptop features an asymmetrical, mechanical-themed chassis design and a 180-degree hinge.

Powering the system is a 90Wh battery that supports fast charging, reaching about 50% charge in 30 minutes. It also supports 100W USB-C charging.

The port selection includes most standard peripherals. On the left side, there is an Ethernet jack, an HDMI 2.1 port, two 10Gbps USB-C ports (which support DisplayPort 2.1), one 10Gbps USB-A port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The right side adds two more USB-A ports.

Additional hardware includes an RGB keyboard with 1.7mm of key travel, a 1080p webcam with IR for Windows Hello facial recognition, and Dolby Atmos audio support.
