Fire at an apartment in Haeundae, Busan... two elderly people died, siblings.

A fire broke out in an apartment in Haeundae, Busan at midnight, and a 70-year-old brother and sister died.

According to News1 on the 13th, a fire broke out around 3:43 AM on the fifth floor of an apartment in U-dong, Haeundae-gu, Busan.

A 70-year-old man and woman living in a fire-affected household were rescued by firefighters in cardiac arrest and received CPR before being transported to a nearby hospital, but they later died. They were identified as siblings.

In addition, six residents were taken to the hospital after inhaling smoke, and more than 100 people evacuated.

The fire caused 20 million won in property damage, according to the fire station.

The fire department, which responded to a report from an apartment security guard, extinguished the fire completely at 4:21 a.m., 38 minutes after receiving the report, by deploying 96 personnel and 27 pieces of equipment.

The fire department believes the fire started in a room near the entrance of the house. To investigate the exact cause of the fire, police and firefighters are scheduled to conduct a joint investigation on the same day.
