Miss Trot 4 Finalists Share Inspiring Journeys and Blessings for Legend Mission

Overview of the ‘Legend Mission’ Contestants

TV Chosun’s ‘Miss Trot 4,’ which began with 88 challengers on December 18th of last year, selected 16 contestants who advanced to the ‘Legend Mission’ after intense competition in each round. Ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, these 16 contestants were asked three common questions: ‘1. This year’s wish’ ‘2. A memorable stage or episode during the competition’ ‘3. A message to fans’. Below are their responses, listed in alphabetical order by name.

Gil Ryeo-won

1. I still can’t believe I’m appearing on the ‘Miss Trot’ series, which I became a fan of in high school. I hope to have the chance to meet my fans in some way.
2. The master audition. I thought I’d perform once and go home, but I received the ‘Beauty’ (美) award and gained unexpected attention. I hadn’t even told my family or friends about my participation, so I was shocked to find myself in first place in the online support vote.
3. It’s amazing that fans have created a fan cafe for a rookie like me. I visit it multiple times a day. I’ll study harder to never disappoint you.

Kim Dana

1. As the head of my household, my wish is for my father, mother, and older brother to receive medical treatment without financial worry.
2. Every stage was precious because I treated this as my last audition. I challenged genres I’d never tried before, such as ‘Gunbae’ (original by Na Hoon-a) in the master audition and ‘Barang’ (by Kim Hee-jae) in the death match.
3. Many people have mentioned in comments that they learned about me through ‘Miss Trot 4.’ I’m deeply grateful because your support allows me to exist as a singer.

Kim San-ha

1. I haven’t had many opportunities to share my music, so I want to get closer to fans through the competition and perform for them.
2. During the medley mission, I joined Yum Yuri’s ‘Vita O Girl’ team, spinning fire and doing forward rolls while singing. It was an experience I’ll never forget, though it felt desperate at the time.
3. I’m thankful to the members of my fan cafe, ‘On San-ha,’ for supporting me even though I’m not very active. I want to tell them that I sing because of you.

Kim Hye-jin

1. Surviving until the top 16 feels like a blessing. I hope the viewers who’ve supported us receive even more blessings.
2. Every stage was tough because I’m terrible at dancing, but I improved a bit. I realized nothing is impossible.
3. I advanced to this round by performing ‘Let’s Meet Again’ (original by Joo Hyun-mi) in the death match. Like the song’s title, I hope to keep meeting and facing my fans.

Yum Yuri

1. I want to achieve good results on ‘Miss Trot 4’ to become a reliable daughter to my mother, who is battling pancreatic cancer. This might be my last challenge in front of her, so I’ll work harder to become a great singer.
2. My death match performance of ‘My Lord’ received a score of 17-0, which I’d never seen before. I felt sorry for my opponent (Park Hong-ju) but was also surprised. The nickname ‘Phonograph Voice’ given to me is a compliment—I’m grateful my efforts to develop a unique trot style as a classical singer were recognized.
3. During ‘Miss Trot 3,’ I made a lyric mistake, but fans still waited outside in the cold to support me. I hope you stay healthy.

Yoo Mi

1. I want a song from ‘Miss Trot 4’ to become a national anthem that everyone loves, unlike my previous hits ‘Love Is Always Thirsty’ and ‘Star’ (from The Ugly Duckling).
2. In the master audition, I performed ‘Byeolri’ (original by Kim Soo-chul). As an independent artist, I could never create such a grand stage with amazing lighting and sessions. I hope more singers who crave the stage knock on ‘Miss Trot’s door.
3. I blend my music style with trot, which might not feel ‘authentic,’ but senior Won Mi-yeon said expanding my fanbase through ‘Miss Trot’ was a good choice. I’ll show songs that fit the times.

Yoon Yoon-seo

1. Surviving among such talented contestants is a gift, but it’s heartbreaking to see my sisters and brothers leave. My mom said not to be greedy, but reaching the top 5 and receiving a song from Master Jang Yun-jung would make me happy.
2. During the medley mission, I led the ‘Pungjin 2’ team. My teammate Jeok Woo, who danced for the first time onstage, followed well, and Son Ah, from the ace match, became close—we cried together when she helped our team win first place.
3. Just as ‘Miss Trot’ helped me overcome a traffic accident and walk again, I hope fans and viewers find happiness in our songs.

Yoon Tae-hwa

1. I hope fans and I can stay young together, preventing aging.
2. In the genre team mission (Active Division X), I performed ‘If I Had a Lover’ (original by Nam Jin). Teamwork was key, and my friends, who liked me, followed well, giving me confidence. Meeting great teammates and performing happily is a blessing.
3. Fans care for me more than family sometimes—they’re my ‘second family.’ I want to meet my ‘Easel’ (fan nickname) supporters more onstage.

Lee So-na

1. Though I’m doing well on ‘Miss Trot 4,’ I rarely meet the public due to rehearsals, so I’m not sure if people recognize me. I want to be loved by more.
2. Receiving the ‘Truth’ (眞) award in the master audition was the most honorable moment. During the ace match, people called me ‘AI,’ but I felt immense pressure to survive. I had to endure anxiety and practice self-restraint.
3. Fans’ support for an unknown singer like me is a huge motivation. I’ll work harder so fans can enjoy gatherings without feeling lonely.

Lee Eliya

1. I’m overwhelmed by the love I’ve received. As I’m introducing myself through music, I’ll show various sides of Lee Eliya.
2. During the master audition, I performed ‘Your Heart Knows’ (original by Na Ye-won) with a fever of 100.4°F. My desperation must have resonated—many praised the performance.
3. Thank you for embracing my sincerity toward music. I’ll repay this love.

Jang Hye-ri

1. I’m grateful ‘Miss Trot 4’ introduced me. I hope to hold a solo concert someday.
2. In the master audition, I played bass guitar while singing ‘To the DJ’ (original by Yoon Si-nae). I had stage fright, but fans noticed my passion.
3. I perform with the mindset of giving fans a ‘gift.’ I want to keep surprising them.

Jeok Woo

1. A fan undergoing kidney dialysis wished to see me on ‘Miss Trot.’ I hope they recover and we meet at a concert.
2. In the death match, I sang ‘Everyone’ (original by Yoon Bok-hee) for that fan. I poured my heart into it—this show will forever be unforgettable.
3. Some fans said ‘Miss Trot 4’ helped them through menopause. Many, including me and my fans, are gaining a ‘second life’ through this show. I hope this message reaches them.

Jeong Hye-rin

1. Since appearing on ‘Miss Trot 4,’ I’ve received many calls. My goal is to connect more closely with fans.
2. During the medley mission, my team ‘Box Office Train’ performed ‘First Train.’ I solo-danced and sang, and Master Jang Yun-jung specifically praised me. It’ll stay in my memory.
3. Please remember the singer Jeong Hye-rin. I wish everyone a happy new year.

Chae Yoon

1. I debuted in 2009, but many didn’t know me, so I lied about my career length. Now, as a top 16 finalist, I can proudly say, ‘I’m Chae Yoon, a singer with X years of experience.’
2. In the death match, I performed ‘Is Anyone There?’ (original by Han Young-ae). Comments like ‘deep’ and ‘healing’ gave me strength. In ‘Miss Trot 3,’ I lost to Bae Ah-hyun in a 1:1 death match, but this time, supportive messages helped me gain confidence.
3. Fans lifted the burden of being a ‘unknown active singer’ and the pressure of my career length. I’ll repay you with dynamic performances.

Heo Chan-mi

1. The cold winters of my past are now blooming warmly like spring. The love from ‘Miss Trot 4’ feels like an early spring.
2. Performing with my mother was unforgettable. In 40 or 50 years, this video will be a precious memory of her.
3. Every comment and support from fans kept me holding onto music. Now, it feels like we’re holding hands together—I’m deeply grateful.

Hong Sung-yoon

1. I wish health and success for everyone around me, including the cast and crew. If there’s a small wish, I hope I do especially well.
2. In the death match, I sang ‘Song of Hope’ (author unknown) while battling the flu. Many said it moved them—I’ll never forget that stage.
3. Stepping into the unknown felt like entering paradise. Singing for three minutes is joyful and new—it’s like singing ‘Song of Hope’ every day.
