Samsung AI robot vacuum surmounts 45mm thresholds
Samsung Electronics has launched a new robot vacuum cleaner that integrates advanced artificial intelligence (AI) vision technology and enhanced security features. This latest model, the ‘2026 model Bespoke AI Steam,’ was introduced on the 11th and is expected to redefine the standards in home cleaning appliances.

Key Features of the New Model
The ‘2026 model Bespoke AI Steam’ comes with a powerful suction system rated at 10W, which is approximately twice as strong as previous models. This increased suction power ensures that even fine dust and hair in tight corners can be effectively removed. The device also includes a slightly protruding ‘pop-out mop’ and ‘pop-out side brush,’ which are designed to clean along walls and in hard-to-reach areas more thoroughly.
Another notable feature is the ‘Easy Pass Wheel,’ capable of overcoming thresholds up to 45 millimeters high. This design makes it easier for the robot vacuum to navigate homes with doorsteps or uneven surfaces, improving its usability across different household environments.
Enhanced AI Capabilities
Samsung has significantly improved the AI capabilities of this model. An RGB (red-green-blue) camera sensor allows the device to recognize liquids on the floor, enabling it to avoid them while still suctioning dust. This intelligent detection system helps prevent damage to floors and ensures a safer cleaning process.
After completing the cleaning task, the robot vacuum sterilizes 99.99% of bacteria on the mop surface using steam at 100 degrees Celsius. This is achieved through a self-cleaning washing plate, which not only enhances hygiene but also reduces the need for manual maintenance.
Market Position and Competition
Despite Samsung’s reputation as a leading electronics manufacturer, domestic robot vacuum cleaners from Samsung and LG currently hold less than 30% of the domestic market. This limited market share has made the industry closely watch whether the new product can shift the dynamics in a market dominated by Chinese brands such as Roborock.
Lim Sung-taek, Vice President and Head of Samsung Electronics Korea, acknowledged the fierce competition with Chinese manufacturers. He emphasized the importance of providing a comprehensive ecosystem, including after-sales service (AS), to remain competitive in this evolving market.
