Hailee Steinfeld recently shared a heartfelt glimpse into her first Mother's Day as a new mom, offering fans their first look at her newborn daughter. The 29-year-old actress, who welcomed her first child with her husband, NFL quarterback Josh Allen, took to Instagram to celebrate the occasion with a series of touching photos.
In one photo, Hailee’s baby girl is seen with her tiny hand wrapped around her mother’s finger, a tender moment that captured the hearts of fans. Another image shows the newborn dressed in a white onesie with black polka dots and strawberry designs on her feet, while a third photo features Hailee surrounded by an array of Mother’s Day cards from friends and family.
The post was accompanied by a simple caption: “A day late but simply obsessed with this.” Fans and celebrities alike flooded the comments section with messages of love and congratulations.
Jeremy Renner, Hailee’s co-star from Hawkeye, wrote, “Happy New Mother’s Day!!! I am so very happy for you,” while actress Rebel Wilson added, “The biggest congrats.”
Hailee first announced the arrival of her daughter through her Substack platform, Beau Society, in April. She shared the exciting news with a heartfelt message: “Our baby girl has arrived!! We're feeling incredibly grateful and blessed and savouring these early moments. Thank you so much for the love and well wishes.”
Two months prior, Hailee had opened up about the emotional journey of preparing for parenthood. In her newsletter, she described the introspective process of getting ready for their new arrival. “The most profound and grounding part of getting ready for this baby has been the introspective side of it [and] the quiet conversations I'm having with myself almost every day,” she wrote.
She also shared some of her thoughts on what the future might hold. “Sometimes I find myself asking big, lofty questions ('What am I going to be like as a mom?') or having vivid daydreams of what our life is about to look like when the three of us are cuddled up in the nursery together.”
Hailee and Josh’s journey to parenthood began with an announcement of their pregnancy, which was shared through a video that captured the couple’s excitement.
The Sinners star also spoke about how the experience has changed her perspective. “I've racked my brain for words to describe that feeling, and I don't have them yet. Maybe that's the point.”
Josh Allen, the quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, shared his own thoughts during a press conference. He admitted that there was only so much preparation one could do before the arrival of their daughter. “I've got siblings that have kids, I've got a lot of friends that have kids, and I don't know if you can plan too far in advance,” he said.
“I'm very much looking forward to that with my wife of becoming a dad. It's something that I will take with great pride, and we're going to have to figure out things on the go just like anything else.”
He concluded by expressing his excitement for the next chapter of his life. “I love being a football player, and I love being a quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, but I'm looking forward to this one.”
Hailee and Josh have been together since May 2023 and married two years later. The singer has often spoken about how Josh has been a constant source of support. She once told Bustle that Josh was her “rock” and that she thanked God “every day that I found my person.”
