NBC Host Tom Llamas Shares Personal Update on Wife and Kids

NBC Nightly News host Tom Llamas gave his fans a rare glimpse into his personal life as he shared a heartfelt Mother's Day post while in Hawaii. On Sunday, May 10, the 46-year-old NBC journalist took to Instagram to share a series of photos featuring his wife and children, along with images from their family vacation to Hawaii. In one of the photos, Tom, his three kids, and his wife Jennifer were all smiling and toasting to the holiday, each wearing matching purple leis.
Tom captioned the post, "Cheers to the best mom! Happy Mother’s Day @whodatjen." The family had traveled all the way from Westchester, New York, for the special trip, as they typically live in a spacious 7-bedroom home in Purchase.

Fans responded with an outpouring of love for Tom and his family. One supporter wrote, "What a beautiful family picture Tom!" Another commented, "Happy Mother’s Day !! Gorgeous family Tom!!" A third fan added, "Sweet family photo ! Have a wonderful day with your beautiful family ! Bless you all." Someone else asked, "Beautiful family Tom. Looks like you had fun! Tom Llamas is the father of three children, whom he shares with his wife Jennifer. The couple has two daughters, Malena (born in 2013) and Juliette (born in 2015), and a son named Tomas (born in 2017). Tom has been married since June of 2006.
As of June 2026, Tom and Jennifer will have been married for 20 years. The couple met as college sweethearts while attending Loyola University New Orleans together. Both were studying broadcast journalism and graduated in the same class.
Jennifer previously worked in the media industry, serving as a producer at MSNBC, NBC News, and WSVN Channel 7. However, after the birth of their children, she chose to step away from her career to focus on raising their family.
Tom began his career at ABC News as the weekend anchor of ABC World News Tonight from 2014 until 2021. He then joined NBC News, where he worked as a senior national correspondent and anchor for NBC News Now. He hosted Top Story with Tom Llamas and also served as a substitute anchor for Today and NBC Nightly News.
After celebrating Mother’s Day with his loved ones, Tom traveled to China to cover President Donald Trump's trip. During the latest broadcast, he was seen in Beijing and informed viewers that he would be delivering live coverage of Trump's historic summit and upcoming meeting with China’s President Xi.
