Jigawa State Government Unveils Support for Tipper Operators

Jigawa State Government has reaffirmed its dedication to empowering key players in the state's economy through targeted initiatives that enhance capacity, boost productivity, and foster sustainable growth across critical sectors. This commitment was highlighted by Governor Malam Umar Namadi during a recent event.

During a ceremony held at the Sir Muhammad Sunusi Bello Durbar Ground in Dutse, Governor Namadi presided over the official handover of heavy-duty machinery to the Tipper Operators Association. The event underscored the government’s strategic efforts to support vital economic activities within the state.

Strategic Intervention for Economic Growth

Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Namadi emphasized the crucial role that tipper operators play in supporting both public and private sector projects. He noted that these operators are essential in road construction, infrastructure development, and real estate expansion. The provision of two brand-new excavators and load-bed machines is a significant step towards enhancing efficiency and reducing operational challenges within the sector.

“The services provided by tipper operators are extensive and essential,” the governor stated. “We have recognized the need to improve the capacity of this vital association, enabling its members to operate more effectively and efficiently.”

He further explained that both public and private work programs, particularly in building and road construction, rely heavily on the reliable services of tipper operators. This makes it imperative for the government to intervene and offer support, especially given the considerable investment required for heavy plants and equipment that are crucial to streamlining key aspects of the services being provided by the association.

Broader Efforts to Stimulate Economic Growth

Governor Namadi described the initiative as part of broader efforts to stimulate economic growth, generate employment, and improve service delivery across Jigawa State. He added that this effort goes beyond the mere provision of equipment; it is a strategic move to reinforce the foundation of the local economy and empower operators to excel in their legitimate businesses.

“The services being provided by this association are very vital to economic growth,” he said. “By equipping the Association with these machines, we aim to boost productivity, generate employment opportunities, and significantly improve the quality of services they provide both within Jigawa State and beyond.”

Alignment with 12-Point Agenda

The intervention aligns with the administration’s 12-Point Agenda aimed at improving socio-economic well-being and fostering sustainable development. Governor Namadi pointed out that this initiative directly supports the socioeconomic development and wellbeing of the people of Jigawa State, which are the topmost objectives of the 12-Point Agenda for Greater Jigawa.

He also referenced previous empowerment programmes, including the distribution of 36 commercial vehicles to transport unions and a revolving loan scheme exceeding N100 million for butchers. These initiatives have inspired continued government support for trade associations and entrepreneurs.

Encouragement and Maintenance

Governor Namadi commended the leadership and members of the Tipper Operators Association for their contributions to the state’s development. He urged them to ensure proper utilization and maintenance of the equipment provided.

This initiative marks a significant step forward in supporting the tipper operators and enhancing their capacity to contribute to the economic growth of Jigawa State. With modern equipment, operators can reduce the burden of manual operations, scale their businesses, and increase profitability.
