The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has revealed plans to introduce its Drone/Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) portal during the 6th Africa International Drone Technology Conference and Exhibition, DroneTecX 2026. This significant event is set to take place from May 12 to 16 at the NIGAV Expo Centre, located within Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos State.

The announcement was made through a statement issued by the NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu. The message was shared on the agency’s official X handle, highlighting the importance of this initiative for the country’s drone industry.

According to the authority, the launch of the RPAS portal represents a crucial step forward in streamlining the regulation of drone operations across Nigeria. It is also aimed at fostering the growth of the drone sector by introducing more efficient and transparent processes.
